The football world governing body Fifa has its Secretary General Jerome Valcke released with immediate effect from his duties. The suspension applies until further notice, it said in a statement of FIFA in Zurich. The association had received a number of allegations of knowledge, which concern the Secretary-General. Therefore was a “formal investigation by the FIFA Ethics Committee” has been ordered.
Valcke 2007 came into office. The 54-year-old Frenchman is close associate of outgoing President Joseph Blatter. He had announced his resignation during the most severe corruption scandal of the World Association in July. A successor will be chosen in February.
