Criticized Bastian Schweinsteiger of Louis van Gaal: “He was too bad” – SPIEGEL ONLINE

The winner, but not satisfied: Manchester United’s coach Louis van Gaal has his team for a 3: severely criticized win over the San Jose Earthquakes: 1 (2: 1). “There was only one highlight in the second half, and that was Pereira,” the Dutchman said after the warm-up match in the United States. Andreas Pereira after 61 minutes the lead to 3: 1 score

Bastian Schweinsteiger also got the hassle of coaches feel. “He has also played bad,” van Gaal said. In his debut for Manchester weekend Schweinsteiger had garnered a lot of praise – even from van Gaal. The captain of the German national team is regarded as desired player of former Bayern coach.

After the first 45 minutes Manchester’s coach moved on to goalkeeper Sam Johnstone by completely, even Schweinsteiger came onto the pitch. But what van Gaal saw then, he did not like: “The second half was very poor,” he said. “We had a lot of turnovers and have not held good positions in midfield.”

This criticism was among others on Schweinsteiger, although van Gaal relativized. “Everybody thinks it’s just get in, but it’s not that players can play bad, especially if you the six days of training in legs stuck. “

Schweinsteiger have played very well in his first match for Manchester and now less well. “But this is also a process, if one only a week back in training is,” van Gaal said.
