Drone in Alpine skiing: Marcel Hirscher almost hit by camera drone – SPIEGEL ONLINE

The Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen won the slalom of Madonna di Campiglio – but his victory and the other placements fell in the face of a drone crash on the track in the background. The Austrian Marcel Hirscher escaped while only reaching a disaster.

Race Director Markus Waldner said, the drone has left a predetermined flight corridor. “It is madness, what happened there. A mess that will have consequences. We are just barely sidestepped to a catastrophe”, the person in charge of the World Association told the broadcaster ORF. “Whether it is now allowed or not, in the future will certainly no longer used.”
