Third friend to fear Schanze – Lausitzer Rundschau



Garmisch-Partenkirchen The New Year’s event was not for the faint hearted. Severin Freund jumped in third place for the first time in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on the podium, but lost his tour-guide to the winning Slovenians Peter Prevc.

The first podium finish of his career with the New Year’s event of the Four Hills Tournament consoled Severin Freund quickly about losing the overall lead time. With the third place on his fear jump in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the ski jumping world champion every chance was given before 25,000 enthusiastic fans in spite of the victory of life rival Peter Prevc at first German tour overall victory in 14 years. “Now he’s the hunted. Since Michael Hayböck from Austria is third overall for more than 21 points behind Prevc, likely the struggle for the tour crown probably only decide between the Slovenes and friend. “It’s fun to pursue this fight”, Andreas Wank said.

The team Olympic champion returned in eleventh with 126.5 and 126 meters again from a good competition. “My goal was the top 15. I am fully in command”, Wank said. In the overall standings he is even tenth. Even better is Richard Freitag in the race. The axis jumped to 130 and 127.5 meters in sixth place and is in the tour ranking ninth. “I’ll try to tone me further and tease out even more,” he promised.
