The US Department of Justice has filed charges against 16 other high-ranking officials in the corruption scandal at football’s world governing body Fifa. “Each of these defendants are accused of criminal conspiracy and other crimes in connection with the long-standing abuse their positions for financial gain,” Justice Minister Loretta Lynch said on Thursday at a press conference in Washington. Among the new defendants include the former executive member of the World Confederation, Ricardo Teixeira, the former Brazilian FA president Marco Polo Del Nero and the former Fifa executive member Rafael Salguero of Guatemala. That gave the American Justice Minister Loretta Lynch announced on Thursday at a press conference in Washington. “The level of corruption is unbelievable,” said Lynch, who is also Attorney General of the United States.


                         
         
         
                                                             

The accused allegedly involved in Bestechung- and corruption offenses amounting to about 200 million dollars. “All of them will not escape us,” Lynch said.
