The 38th Dakar Rally has claimed its first fatalities. According to the organizers a 63 year-old man died in an accident on Saturday. It is the 67th fatality in the context of the Dakar Rally since 1980. Last year, died the Polish motorcyclists Michal Hernik.
The Frenchman Lionel Baud was at kilometer 82 of the section between Uyuni / Bolivia and Salta / Argentina with his car off the track and captured the man who stood alone at the edge of the track. “The doctors were only the man’s death notice,” informed the organizers with.
